Three citizens have been arrested in traffic incidents

A man and a woman were arrested last Monday as alleged perpetrators of a crime against traffic safety, disobedience and assault on a security agent. The events, which took place on the Vía Medular, occurred when they intercepted the vehicle in which they were traveling for a routine alcohol test, and when they refused to take it, they attacked the agent, according to the police version.

The events occurred when, in a preventive traffic control, the woman, identified as M.S.M.B.S., a native of Portugal, refused to take it when the agents requested it. At that moment, the detainee began to lash out against the police officers, according to their account, and "when she was about to be arrested, the man, born in Spain and identified as A.A.V.M., who was accompanying her in the car, also tried to attack the officers". Once they were detained, they were transferred to the police station for subsequent judicial disposition.

Traffic incident at the Ironman

In addition, on Sunday, during the celebration of the XV Ironman Edition, the Local Police of the Municipality arrested Jorge Luis C.A. accused of an alleged crime against Traffic Safety.

Apparently, the detainee accessed a closed section of Avenida de las Playas, in Puerto del Carmen, which was closed to traffic due to the celebration of the Ironman. This citizen, 29 years of age, circulated through this section deliberately disobeying the security forces, who ordered him on several occasions to divert to avoid access to the enclosure. The driver of the vehicle ended up colliding with the security fences that protected the space enabled to store bicycles, having to move aside the security guards to avoid being run over.

When the Police detained him, they realized that this citizen did not have a driver's license. In addition, the agents subjected him to alcohol tests, giving a result that tripled the maximum permitted rate.
