The National Police have arrested three young men in Arrecife accused of causing damage to a parked vehicle, in a situation that became complicated when the owner of the car noticed the events, surprising those who would later be arrested.
As explained in a statement from the Police Directorate, a resident of Arrecife recently reported to the Citizen Assistance and Complaint Office (ODAC) of the Police Station that while at home he heard noises in the street and, looking out the window, he was able to verify that three individuals were destroying his vehicle, so at that moment he called 091 to, then, go out into the street and call the attention of the aforementioned subjects. These fled and were chased by the complainant, who was able to reach one of them. It was then that the young man brandished a knife that he tried to stick to the complainant, arriving at the scene at that moment a police unit of the Citizen Security unit that disarmed the assailant and arrested him, resulting in this being JosRicardo A.D., a native of Colombia and resident on the Island, 18 years of age. He, together with another of the alleged perpetrators, who was later found to be a minor, were transferred to the Police Station.
Meanwhile, another police unit managed to arrest the third involved, identified as Jhonny Alberto M.F., also a native of Colombia and residing in Lanzarote, 20 years of age, who was also transferred to police headquarters, where the corresponding proceedings were instructed and after which the three detainees were placed at judicial disposal.
