The autopsy of the young man found dead in the Charco de San Ginés last February 12 has revealed that he died of drowning, as confirmed by the National Police to La Voz.
However, this police force continues to investigate the facts. And it is that, although the corpse "showed no signs of violence", it is unknown if he drowned because he fell into the sea or if he could have been pushed by someone.
From the National Police have also confirmed that the young man was an immigrant who had arrived on the island by boat, a fact that was already advanced this week by the citizen network of solidarity with migrants in Lanzarote.
"Alí Elhardni died without anyone knowing how. He was just over 20 years old and had arrived in Lanzarote by boat in November last year. He was taken in by the Red Cross and decided to leave the program. He was very afraid of being returned to his country if he stayed in the shelter, so he decided to hide in the streets of Arrecife," said this group, which called for "help" to immigrants arriving by boat to the island "if we do not want to find destinations adrift in the Charco de San Ginés again."
