The 40-year-old woman who was rescued this Thursday morning on a roof in Arrecife was hiding in the upper part of the MediaMarkt in the capital, according to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium.

The affected woman, realizing that she could not leave due to the security system measures of the store, asked for help from the citizens who were walking down the street. Then it was the passers-by who called the police officers.

The National Police was in charge of notifying the firefighters, who went to the area to help the affected woman. A firefighter and an agent accessed the store's terrace to lower the woman with a turntable ladder.

The rescue took place at approximately 1:17 a.m. this Thursday, on Iguazú street in the capital's Argana neighborhood. According to reports from the Consortium, the woman allegedly has drug addiction problems.
