The wind recorded this Friday, March 6, caused incidents in different parts of Lanzarote, among them damage to a windmill located in Costa Teguise that required the intervention of the Security and Emergency Consortium.
According to the Fire Department, the alert was received at 17:46 hours after an individual reported that a mill located on Islas Canarias avenue, in Costa Teguise (Teguise), had suffered the detachment of a part of its structure due to the wind, which caused it to become unstable.
Personnel from the Central Park were dispatched to the scene, who after inspecting the installation proceeded to provisionally secure the loose part to prevent its movement and reduce the risk. Subsequently, the Local Police of Teguise were notified so that the City Council's technical service carries out the definitive repair.
On the other hand, during the day, another incident was also recorded in Argana Alta, in Arrecife, where emergency services detected a broken telephone pole. In the same area, a bent electrical pole with low-hanging wiring was also located.
After assessing the situation, notice was given to both Telefónica and Endesa so that they proceed with the repair of both infrastructures. The Local Police of Arrecife collaborated in this service.
