The waves have caused the routes between Lanzarote and La Graciosa to be modified or canceled this Tuesday. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has announced a yellow warning for wind and an orange warning for waves in Lanzarote.

For this reason, the two transport companies that operate between Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Biosfera Express and Líneas Romero, have had to cancel or modify their routes.

Specifically, Biosfera Express has reported that, for this Tuesday, February 27, 16 trips were scheduled throughout the day. "In the morning only four trips have been able to depart", of the ten that are made daily in the hours from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., they have revealed from the company.

In addition, "only two trips" are planned for the afternoon, significantly reducing the routes, in which six departures are regularly made. The company plans to make the last Órzola-Caleta de Sebo connection at 5:30 p.m.

Cancellations and changes that may also occur this Wednesday, February 28. From Biosfera Express they anticipate that the forecasts for tomorrow Wednesday are "worse", although "everything will depend on the state of the tide, whether it will be lower or higher", they added. From the company, they have still "not determined the measures they are going to take".

Líneas Romero has also canceled some of its routes

Thus, the shipping company Líneas Romero has announced that it is suspending its activity from 4:00 p.m. this Tuesday. The company has reported the various changes that have been made through its website.

For this Tuesday, departures have been from Órzola at 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and from La Graciosa, at 12:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. "We have had to cancel five round trips", they reveal from the company.

The routes that have been made this Tuesday have been the following: from La Graciosa at 08:00, 12:30 and 15:00 and from Órzola, at 8:30, 13:30 and 16:00.

Líneas Romero has highlighted that for this Wednesday they "do not know with exactness if we will be able to operate or not", but they confirm that "what is planned is that everything will surely be canceled."

The trips from Playa Blanca at 6:30 p.m. and from Corralejo at 7:30 p.m. have also been canceled. Therefore, both shipping companies will resume connections when conditions improve and guarantee safety.

The State Meteorological Agency has decreed, from 9:00 p.m. this Tuesday, the orange warning for adverse coastal phenomena, with the possibility of waves of up to 4 meters with special impact in the northeast area of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

The Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, chaired by Francisco Aparicio, recalls that in the face of this type of alert it is important to safeguard safety and not practice any type of activity in the water while the alert is still active.
