The Canary Emergency Service (SUC), attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, has responded, in the first six months of 2016, to 8,270 health incidents on the island of Lanzarote, 2.87% more than the same period of the previous year. Of these, half were classified as emergencies, with imminent danger to people's lives.

This activity means that the SUC has had to assist 8,264 people on the island who have been involved in the aforementioned incidents, which represents 5.77% of the total number of affected people attended by the Canary Emergency Service in the Archipelago during the same period.

Of all the assistance provided by the SUC in this period, it should be noted that more than 6,673 were related to different types of illness and almost 1,600 to accidents.

Likewise, 796 consultations were attended and 745 urgent health transport services were carried out, while secondary transport between health or hospital centers exceeded 373.
