The worker seriously injured on Varadero Avenue, in Puerto del Carmen, was dismantling the electricity of the Tapas Fair when he suffered this accident. Apparently, he fell from a height of "five or six meters", which caused him a severe head injury.
This employee has been working for more than 20 years at the company Leyce, owned by the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín. Therefore, as soon as he learned of the events, Machín went to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, where this worker, a resident of La Vegueta, is admitted.
The accident occurred at around 10:00 a.m. this Monday, on the public road, when this man was dismantling the electrical part of the Tapas Fair, which was held this weekend. Apparently, the base of the post he was on moved, which caused his fall.
The 112 received the alert and sent personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service to the scene. Once stabilized, the man was transferred by ambulance to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
