The sailboat of more than eight meters in length that ran aground in La Graciosa in the early morning of March 24 has ended up breaking into several parts due to the inaction of the institutions to remove it from the area.

As can be seen in the images, the strong waves have caused the hull of the boat to break into several parts. The sailboat ran aground after its captain, a man of Czech nationality, had "a lapse".

A day after the event, a neighbor contacted La Voz to report that the boat was still stranded. "There is still no coordinated action between the City Council of Teguise, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the Government of the Canary Islands and the General State Administration, despite being a Natural Park or Marine Reserve, to prevent waste from reaching the sea," he criticized.

This situation poses a risk of impact in an area with high environmental value such as the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park, since the boat was carrying approximately 40 liters of gasoline and two drums of diesel of 10 liters each.
