The "accomplices" of the perpetrator of the violent robbery in a jewelry store in Arrecife are a man and a woman who, supposedly, helped him hide after the robbery. This has been confirmed this Wednesday by the National Police, which has sent the first official statement reporting these arrests, which occurred last week.

La Voz had already reported this Tuesday that the alleged perpetrator of the robbery and the shots was placed in provisional detention, while the other two detainees were released on charges. Now, the National Police provides new data on the alleged participation of these two people. Specifically, both are accused of concealment, having helped the robber to hide.

The National Police explain that when they started the investigation, they discovered that after the robbery, the alleged perpetrator took refuge in a house located a few meters from the jewelry store. "Hours later, as a security measure, he was transferred by people from his environment to a house located in the Argana Alta neighborhood of Arrecife," explain from the National Police.

The agents then established a surveillance device in both homes and, "after obtaining the appropriate entry and search warrants from the Judicial Authority", they entered first the house located in Argana Alta, "where the alleged perpetrator of the events was located and arrested".

Clothing located, but not the gun

In the search, the agents found the cap, the hooded sweatshirt, the pants and the shoes that the young man was wearing at the time of committing the robbery, in addition to 10 grams of cocaine. In this address, the owner of the same was also arrested for a crime of concealment.

In the second search, carried out in the house that was a few meters from the jewelry store, and which was the first refuge of the robber, the Police points out that "no relevant effects related to the robbery were found, but the arrest of its resident was carried out, also for a crime of concealment."

In addition, in order to locate the weapon used, a third address where people from the family environment of the perpetrator of the events resided was searched, "with the result being negative", so the gun has not been found.

While the two alleged cover-ups have been released on charges, the alleged perpetrator of the robbery and the shots has already entered the Tahíche Penitentiary Center, pending trial. As confirmed by the National Police, the detainee is 22 years old and responds to the initials of F.M.L.E. The young man is charged with a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation and two crimes, in the degree of attempt, of homicide.
