The man injured in the brawl that took place in Punta Mujeres on the afternoon of last Thursday, Fran Sánchez, is recovering in the northern town from the incisions he has on his left arm, abdomen, leg and fingers caused by the knife with which his attacker attacked him, allegedly a neighbor residing near the victim's home. "If I'm not mistaken, I counted 96 stitches on my body because he stabbed me seven times," Fran told the newspaper La Provincia. His left arm was the worst hit. "It started gushing like a tap," he recalled.
Fran, 37, was at the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife until Friday morning, when he was discharged. In the morning he went to testify at the Costa Teguise Civil Guard barracks, recounting how the events had happened. An event that began with an argument about Fran's dog and ended with the aggression by A. J. M. R to Fran with a knife.
Although initially municipal sources from Haría indicated that both the aggressor, who left prison some time ago after serving a sentence for a violent act, and the victim came from Gran Canaria, the truth is that the former is originally from that island, while Fran is from Cádiz and has been in Lanzarote for six years, as he himself confirmed to the newspaper La Provincia.
The Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of Costa Teguise is conducting the investigation and continues, together with other police forces, to search for the perpetrator of the events who faces a charge of attempted homicide.
