A man from Asturias has died this Wednesday at noon, after falling down a ravine on the road that connects Ye with the Mirador del Río. Apparently, this Asturian, who was enjoying a few days of vacation on the Island, leaned too far over the edge of the road and, in a lapse of attention, while observing the landscape, fell down the ravine, descending about 30 meters from the road.

The only fatal victim, who was driving alone in a rental car, rented the same morning of the accident, is a 78-year-old Asturian. Emergency teams that arrived at the scene found this man in cardiorespiratory arrest. Although they tried to revive him, until the mechanized ambulance of the Canary Islands Emergency Service arrived, all attempts were unsuccessful, as the driver died almost instantly. These emergency teams, who received the call about 12:30 in the morning, observed multiple fractures and various polytrauma in the corpse, including a cranioencephalic one.

Although the presence of a helicopter was initially requested in the area, its intervention was ultimately not necessary. It has been the emergency services, together with a mountain rescue group, who have managed to rescue the lifeless body.
