The Civil Guard of the Main Post of San Bartolomé, investigated on February 21 a person with the initials J.G.P. and of Spanish nationality, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of simulation of crime, for reporting that someone had stolen his mobile phone while he was in a shopping center in the town of Playa Honda.

On February 10, J.G.P. went to file a complaint at the aforementioned official premises, alleging that another person had stolen his mobile phone. As a result of the investigation started by the Civil Guard and the statement of a person related to the complaint, more specifically an ex-romantic partner of his, the agents located the allegedly stolen mobile phone, which was in the possession of its owner, so the Civil Guard subsequently investigated J.G.P. as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of simulation of crime.

Simulation of crime


The Penal Code, based on article 457, punishes with fines of six to twelve months anyone who pretends to be responsible or a victim of a criminal offense or reports a non-existent one.
