The Civil Guard has arrested six people accused of several burglaries in different homes in Lanzarote. The investigation began at the end of March, after four thefts were committed in houses in Teguise and Haría following the same "modus operandi".
According to reports from the Civil Guard of the Costa Teguise station, the perpetrators of the events entered the homes after forcing one of the windows that provide access to them, managing to steal jewelry and other effects, a large amount of coins, electronic material such as video game consoles or mobile phones, and documentation. The stolen objects had a total value of 28,555 euros.
Initially, the Civil Guard managed to locate part of the stolen jewelry through gold buying and selling stores. Thus, they arrested a person, whose initials are J.A.G.R., as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of receiving stolen goods.
The Civil Guard explains that they continued with the investigation "given the social alarm that these robberies had created." On March 30 and April 25, this body arrested a total of five people, A.A.M.R., J.R.B., R.T.B., R.P.G., and R.D.C.C. Of those arrested, one of them is charged with four burglaries, while the rest are accused of one burglary as well.
As a result of these investigations, a large part of the stolen effects has been seized, which, once recognized, were returned to their owners. The detainees and the proceedings were placed at the disposal of the Arrecife Investigating Courts.
