The Civil Guard has investigated a 50-year-old man after testing positive for an alcohol test after being involved in a spectacular accident. The event took place on January 8 on kilometer 3 of the La Vega de Mácher road, in the municipality of Yaiza, at around 8:15 p.m.

The agents went to the place after being alerted that an accident had occurred, to instruct the corresponding proceedings. Upon arrival, they verified that an SUV had left the road and overturned, leaving only material damage.

Once the identity of the driver was verified and after carrying out the corresponding alcohol tests, he gave a positive result of 0.98 mg/l in the first test and 0.90 mg/l in the second test, which is why he was informed of his investigation as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against Road Safety for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

The Civil Guard reminds that driving with rates higher than 0.60 mg/l in air or 1.2 gr/l in blood is punishable by prison sentences of three to six months or a fine of six to twelve months or work for the benefit of the community of 30 to 90 days, as well as deprivation of the right to drive from one to four years.
