The Local Police of Arrecife sanctioned a person last Thursday for depositing belongings on public roads. It was the Department of Cleaning of the capital city council that informed the agents of the Citizen Attention Operational Group (GOAC), about the dumping of furniture and two batteries in the street Ortega y Gasset and Guatemala, in the neighborhood of La Vega.

After moving to the place and verifying the situation, the agents managed to identify the person responsible. According to the Arrecife City Council, the neighbor faces a sanction of up to 30,050.60 euros, in accordance with the Ordinance that Regulates the Cleaning Service and Collection of Domestic Waste, in its article 152.2.B.

From the police force they remember that with this action and its resolution, not only is it sought to punish the improper conduct, but also to educate, raise awareness, strengthen the connection between society and the administration, with the aim of building a more sustainable urban environment. In addition, they thank the citizen collaboration to identify the person responsible for any uncivil action that may occur in our town. "Without their support and awareness, it would not be possible to maintain a clean city and a sustainable urban environment," they have pointed out on their social networks.

In addition, Yonathan de León, as directly responsible for the Local Police, has explained that the "local agents are monitoring the dumping of waste on public roads so that the perpetrators are sanctioned", as determined by the breach of Municipal Ordinances.

In recent months, the Local Police has opened several sanctioning files for similar discharges in the capital of Lanzarote.
