The Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) of the Civil Guard in Lanzarote reported on August 11 a person who was transporting a small horse inside a car that was traveling in the hold of a ship that covers the Huelva-Tenerife line.

The Civil Guard was alerted by the shipping company itself, when the crew detected during the journey the existence of a pony inside a mixed tourism that was in the hold of the ship.

The DEPRONA of Timanfaya waited for the ship upon its arrival at 2:30 p.m. at the Muelle de Los Mármoles, in Arrecife, to carry out the inspection and verification, being able to locate a family-type vehicle that hid a pony inside, which was not equipped for the transfer of animals and failed to comply with the security measures and hygienic-sanitary conditions for animal transport.

Apparently the animal came from Holland, making the journey to Huelva by land in a vehicle and later by sea the journey to its final destination, the island of Tenerife, with a stopover in Lanzarote. This entire journey was carried out irregularly in the rear cabin of the vehicle without complying with the corresponding permits for the movement of the animal, and also failed to comply with the regulations on the transport of the same, with the added circumstance that the animal lacked the ship's ticket for the transfer of animals.
