National Police agents arrested last Thursday in Arrecife the alleged perpetrator of the robbery at the El Príncipe cafeteria, who is accused of forcibly robbing another bar and a business in the capital during the state of alarm. After the arrest of the man, who is 53 years old and has 38 police records, the judge ordered his imprisonment.

According to the police force, all the criminal offenses were committed by the arrested man during the early hours of March 15, 23 and 30, by breaking the access doors. The police investigation remains open, however, and further arrests for the same events are not ruled out.

The events were triggered after a businessman from Arrecife reported a robbery at his establishment, a bar in the capital, committed on March 15. The agents who went to the scene were able to verify that the access door had been forced and the interior of the premises was completely ransacked. The cash register had been broken but inside there was only a small amount of cash.

The following weekend, the National Police received a new complaint identical to the previous one, this time in a food store in the capital of Lanzarote.

"We have been looted"

Finally, the robbery occurred at the El Principe cafeteria using the same modus operandi. "We have been looted," its owner tells La Voz, who stated that they had stolen between 20 and 30 bottles of alcohol, tobacco from the machine and the money that was in it.

The police investigation allowed to identify the alleged perpetrator of all the criminal acts, a 53-year-old man with 38 police records, mostly for events of a similar nature. Once located in the capital, the man was arrested last Thursday for the three crimes.

After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered his imprisonment.
