National Police agents have arrested the owner of a house in the municipality of Arrecife for breaking into his tenant's house. The 51-year-old man had been waiting for months for the judicial eviction to recover his home after a nine-month non-payment and accessed it to place a prop that would prevent the main door from being opened after being alerted by neighbors of bad odors and unsanitary conditions in the house.

The events were triggered after a man called the 091 telephone number reporting that the owner of the house where he resided had prohibited him from accessing it, placing a prop inside the house that prevented the door from being opened from the outside.

The agents who went to the scene interviewed the owner of the house, who told them "that the tenant had not paid the rent for nine months and the judicial process was extremely slow," according to the police force.

In addition, the neighbors had alerted the man due to the bad odors and unsanitary conditions in which the property was located, even observing numerous animal excrement inside.

After confirming that the owner of the house had accessed the interior of the same to place a prop that prevented the main door from being opened, the agents proceeded to arrest the man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of trespassing. After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
