The video of Pedro, one of the participants in Timple's death

Pedro, one of the participants in Timple's death, wanted to give his version through a video and a letter that he sent to La Voz, in which he states that they "never" wanted the dog to "suffer or die", although he acknowledges that they acted "very badly". "We didn't want this tragic ending," he says.

In his writing, Pedro describes Timple's death as "accidental", despite the fact that the animal died of asphyxiation after they closed his snout with duct tape and held it with a zip tie and tied the dog by a rope around his neck and in turn to his front and rear extremities. In addition, he justifies his action by saying that the dog had "bitten" them.

In his letter, Pedro states that Miriam, the other person involved in the events, had been "feeding and giving home to the animal for more than three years and calling the animal service." "He practically always slept on her farm," he says.

His account of the events

Regarding the day of the events, he says that the woman called him at his home "to please help her catch the dog while the kennel arrived." After that, Pedro claims that he showed up at the farm to try to catch him.

"We tied him up and put a muzzle on him. He tries to escape, takes off the muzzle and bites me. All this took a couple of hours and we always tried to calm him down," says the man, who claims that Miriam called the kennel "around 10:00" in the morning and also notified a neighbor to call them, but "they showed up after 13:30 hours."

In this regard, Pedro insists that the neighbor called "several times to the kennel" to go "urgently" and points out that there came his "fatal mistake". "As he had bitten and we had nothing to hold him with, we put the tape on his snout," says the man, who maintains that it was going to be "temporary" because they believed that they would arrive "briefly" from the kennel. He also adds that then "the dog was breathing well because he had his nostrils uncovered."

Later, he states that he went "to the Emergency Room" and that the woman stayed "with the dog, who was calm." It was then when, according to him, "she makes the video to send it to the kennel service and to a councilor to help her urgently, because the dog began to suffer."

"Again her big mistake of not releasing his snout. She didn't release him because she was alone and feared that he would attack her, but she should have released him anyway," says Pedro, who insists that "everything was a disaster and the intention was never to harm him."

"I wish I could go back in time and act differently"

"You want to kill us and I don't blame you," he says, addressing the citizens, where Timple's murder has generated outrage and consternation. "I can only say that our families are devastated by all this," adds this man, who states that "I wish I could go back in time and act differently."

"Our lives will never be the same, I hope society forgives us. We have always done good until this moment. I'm sorry and I assure you that my life is already a disgrace with all this. I'm not looking for a justification. We acted very badly and we didn't want this tragic ending," says Pedro, who points out that he understands the "hatred" towards them and ends his letter insisting that "it was an accident." "I'm sorry," he concludes.
