Officers of the Civil Guard of the Main Post of Tías, belonging to the Investigation Area and the Citizen Security Area, have solved multiple robberies recently perpetrated in 13 establishments in the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen, where countless garments and watches of considerable commercial value (about 35,000 euros) were stolen, facts that had generated some concern in the Lanzaroteño commercial sector.
The robberies were committed in 12 fashion stores (jeans, sportswear, surfer and children's clothing) located in the Biosfera Shopping Center and in a store located on Avenida de Las Playas, all of them in Puerto del Carmen. As reported yesterday by the General Command of the armed institute of Las Palmas, it was two independent and unrelated gangs that managed to steal a large amount of all kinds of clothing, belonging to prestigious and sought-after firms (including Levis, Armani or Lacoste), as well as many branded watches.
The various investigations carried out by the Civil Guard have led to the arrest of a total of nine people, also managing to recover watches and clothing valued at 9,000 euros.
On the one hand, inside two apartments where some of the members of a gang resided, a multitude of labeled stolen garments were discovered, most of them hidden in different areas of the houses and in hidden places such as under the beds or inside wardrobes and large backpacks, being arrested for these acts three underage women (17 years old) of British nationality, together with three British men, identified as W.E., P.B. and P.E. of 29, 25 and 24 years old, respectively.
On the other hand, the other gang was subsequently located and, on this occasion, the Civil Guard arrested three young men native to Gran Canaria and residents of Jinámar, identified as B.S.F., F.O.B. and S.B.S., aged 19, 21 and 22.
Investigations are continuing to try to recover the remaining stolen garments, while the proceedings and all the detainees have been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court Number Four, on duty, of Arrecife.
