National Police agents have arrested a 49-year-old foreign woman with no police record in Arrecife for the theft of a mobile phone. It was a terminal valued at more than 1,000 euros.
The events were triggered after the complaint of the injured party, who told the agents that when he was inside a store in Arrecife, "he momentarily left the mobile phone on the counter and, when he went to retrieve it, it had disappeared," explains the Police. The police investigation allowed to identify a woman who had gone to the same store and, in a distraction of the owner, took the terminal and put it in her bag. The woman left the premises "immediately", they add.
The agents located the woman several days later, and arrested her as the alleged perpetrator of a theft. In addition, the Police recovered the stolen terminal, which was returned to its owner. After instructing the corresponding police report, it was sent to the competent Judicial Authority. The police intervention was carried out by members of the Local Brigade of the Judicial Police of the Arrecife Police Station.
