A surveillance device established around a building located on a street adjacent to the Santa Catalina Park in the capital of Gran Canaria has allowed the arrest of two alleged drug traffickers, who respond to the initials R.R.R. 43 years old and C.C.V. 44 years old, both natives of Las Palmas de G.C., accused of a Crime Against Public Health.
According to a letter sent by the Armed Institute, the investigations, carried out by the E.D.O.A. of the Civil Guard of Las Palmas, (Investigation Team Against Organized Crime and Anti-Drug), began as a result of a series of suspicions surrounding an apartment, where certain movements were observed that indicated possible drug transactions.
Once the police operation was launched, a greenhouse with an important plantation of Marijuana (Cannabis Sativa) was discovered in the living room of the building and hidden behind a curtain.
This greenhouse, made of wood and cardboard, had an extension of almost 10 square meters, equipped with a perfect installation conditioned for the entire cultivation process, with different mechanisms adapted and made to maintain the degree of humidity, temperature, ventilation, artificial light and an ingenious automated drip irrigation system.
Inside it, 21 plants of different sizes were found cultivated in the growth phase, in addition to another 220 grams of dry marijuana distributed in wrappers and prepared for immediate sale.
Also, another 254 grams of Hashish Resin were seized, along with 3,070 euros in cash, numerous jewels valued at 7,770 euros, several containers containing various chemical products used for the cultivation process, a digital precision scale, an electric vaporizer, two hygrometric thermometers, an extractor, a fan, a dynamometer, a thermal sodium vapor lamp, a thermostat clock, insulators, nutrients, substrates, carbonates, etcetera.
All of this, together with the detainees, were made available to the Judicial Authority.
