The National Police has arrested a 45-year-old man, of foreign nationality and initials G.G.H., as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of corruption of minors and another of inducing the abandonment of domicile of two minors. He is held responsible for inducing the abandonment of the Arrecife reception center where two minor girls resided. This man, "obtained sexual favors from the girls in exchange for money and gifts," the Police point out. After being brought to judicial disposition, he has been released with charges.
The intervention began after a complaint from the heads of a minor's center in Arrecife, reporting the escape of a 15-year-old minor who resided there. "The police investigation uncovered an alleged friendship between the runaway minor and an adult individual of foreign nationality, who would have given a mobile phone to the girl," the Police explain.
The agents located this man, who was at his home in Playa Honda in the company of two minor girls, and who had fled from the same reception center.
The police officers verified that the detainee "obtained sexual favors from the girls in exchange for money and gifts, so they proceeded to arrest him as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of corruption of minors and another of inducing the abandonment of domicile of minors." The two girls were returned to the minor's reception center where they resided.
After preparing the corresponding police report, the detainee was brought to the disposition of the competent Judicial Authority, who ordered his release with charges. The police intervention was carried out by members of the Family Attention Service (SAF) of the Local Brigade of the Judicial Police of the Arrecife Police Station.
