A German tourist has been injured after being hit by a rock of about five kilos, according to the Emergency Consortium. The woman was sunbathing on the beach when the landslide occurred.

The incident took place at around 2:00 p.m. this Monday on Playa de la Arena, near Playa Quemada. After receiving the alert, firefighters from the Emergency Consortium, Civil Protection, and agents from the Yaiza Local Police were dispatched.

When the emergency teams arrived, they found that the affected woman had a deformity between her elbow and left shoulder, so they proceeded to immobilize her arm with a splint and a sling.

Finally, the helicopter was activated because the woman was fatigued and, in addition, was at the end of the beach. The affected woman has been transferred to Molina Orosa.
