A 20-year-old French national has been seriously affected this Saturday, August 9, after suffering an incomplete drowning in Playa Chica, in the municipality of Tías.
The incident occurred around 10:04 a.m., when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received a call alerting them to the rescue of a swimmer with breathing difficulties in the water.
A medical ambulance and another basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), as well as Local Police officers, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, the health personnel attended to the young woman, who presented symptoms of severe incomplete drowning. After being stabilized at the scene, she was transferred to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
The Local Police took charge of the corresponding proceedings.
