Four minors have been located this Thursday afternoon in La Santa and claim to have arrived in Lanzarote on a boat with about 30 immigrants. For the moment, no boat has been found in the area where these minors were, near the hotel in this town, nor any more immigrants.

Emergency teams received this information around 5:00 p.m. and quickly moved to the area. The immigrants themselves approached the hotel, went to the private security members and asked them to call the police.

Agents from the Local Police, Civil Guard, the NGO Emerlan and also members of the Red Cross have traveled there. The four minors are in good health.

While some sources indicate that they could be between 13 and 14 years old, others believe that due to their physical features they would be 16. The Civil Guard affirms that they are "alleged minors", since they will have to undergo the pertinent tests. None of them carried documentation.

The volunteers from the NGO Emerlan have attended to these minors and, for this, they have put on masks and gloves to prevent the Ebola virus. Precisely for this reason, they have taken the temperature of these four people, who had no symptoms of fever. From the Red Cross they point out that two of them have been treated for minor injuries.

According to the minors, they left Morocco and arrived on the island this Thursday on a boat with 30 other immigrants. However, neither more people nor the boat have been located yet.

The minors will be placed at the disposal of the National Police Immigration Unit.
