The coalition government formed by Coalición Canaria and the Partido Popular continues tackling the political crisis that spread through the party after it became known that the CEO of the Centers for Art, Culture, and Tourism, Ángel Vázquez (PP), participated in the awarding of a permanent position as a dishwasher where his son obtained a place.

The Cabildo de Lanzarote has removed the Partido Popular councilor Ángel Vázquez from the Governing Council and has appointed his party colleague Francisco Javier Aparicio in his place.

The Governing Group has also stripped Ángel Vázquez of the Secretariat of the Governing Council, and in his place, the new president of the PP in Lanzarote, María Jesús Tovar, will assume this role. In the event that Tovar has to be absent, the substitute secretary will also be Francisco Aparicio.

After being removed from the Centers for Art, Culture, and Tourism in mid-October, Vázquez is now displaced from the Governing Council and becomes a minister without portfolio in the Cabildo de Lanzarote.

For the moment, sources from the PP have told *La Voz* that Vázquez will continue to lead the party's spokesperson role in the first island institution and that once he returns, an area will be assigned to him. Vázquez has been on medical leave since last October 9.

The political crisis that is shaking the party reached its peak last September, when the regional PP decided to appoint a caretaker committee in Lanzarote and remove Ástrid Pérez from the Presidency, after eighteen years at the helm of the party.
