The "denier" arrested on Saturday by the Local Police of Arrecife while participating in a concentration was released without charges after being brought to judicial disposition, as confirmed by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC). The Prosecutor's Office requested the free dismissal of the case.
However, the magistrate, ex officio, deduced testimony from the proceedings to send them to the Government Sub-delegation, in case an administrative infraction had been committed by the detainee. It should be remembered that the man, of foreign nationality, was not wearing a mask when the events occurred.
However, this was not the reason for his arrest. In a video released by the "deniers" themselves, who described what happened as an "illegal detention", it was seen how the man tried to escape from the agents. Afterwards, he started a struggle with one of them and, when they tried to restrain him, he pushed one of the policemen until he knocked him to the ground.
The cause of his arrest was an alleged assault on the agents of the authority, although he has finally been released without charges and could now only face an administrative sanction.
