A woman had to be transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital on Saturday afternoon due to smoke inhalation, as a result of a fire that broke out in her home in Puerto del Carmen. The events occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Zonzamas street.

According to the Emergency and Security Consortium, when the firefighters arrived at the scene, the Local Police were already in the area and had removed the owner from the building, who was the only person inside.

As the health services had not yet arrived, the firefighters themselves initially applied oxygen to the woman, who showed signs of smoke inhalation. Afterwards, when the ambulance arrived, it took charge of the victim and was responsible for her transfer to the Hospital.

The flames originated in the bedroom, apparently due to some candles that ignited clothes that were in the room, as well as the mattress and the bed. After extinguishing the fire, the firefighters were also in charge of ventilating the house, since the smoke had spread throughout the house.
