The Traffic Detachment of the Civil Guard of Arrecife proceeded to investigate a woman as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety, after being located driving a vehicle after having lost all the points on her license.
The events occurred on the Arrecife to Orzola road (LZ-1) on February 1, when the patrol proceeded to stop a vehicle in a document verification checkpoint. After carrying out the corresponding procedures, it was verified that the driver, 28 years old and residing on the island, had lost all the points legally assigned to her.
Therefore, the driver was informed that she would be investigated as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against road safety. From the investigated facts, the corresponding proceedings were instructed, which will be delivered to the Investigating Court on duty in Arrecife.
The Civil Guard points out that driving a motor vehicle having lost all the legally assigned points is an "especially serious" infraction that implies, beyond an administrative infraction, the commission of a criminal offense typified in article 384 of the Penal Code.
