Burglary at Sara's

The facilities of the Sara animal shelter have suffered a new robbery, which has left significant damage to the premises.  “We are once again dismayed. We are very angry and powerless at the destruction they do to take nothing, four hard ones. It costs us much more to replace everything they have destroyed,” they lament from the association.

According to them, this assault adds to another they suffered last year, and the thieves have broken doors and furniture, “taking away what little there was in the office.”

“We have been having some very hard years economically speaking and making a superhuman effort to continue caring for all the street cats that come to us sick, run over, with mange, who have no one to take care of them and at the same time be able to care for all the animals we have in the shelter,” explains the shelter.

“We need that money to continue caring for them and not to spend it on repairing locks, security doors or the alarm system”, they lament. In addition, they send a message to the assailants: “From now on, the little money that is made will be collected every afternoon, so please, do not destroy the shelter again, there is no money.”

The robbery has already been reported to the Police and from Sara they affirm that they have also handed over the images from the security cameras, in order to locate the perpetrators.

They took an urn with ashes

In addition, they have made a citizen appeal to try to recover one of the objects that the thieves took: an urn with the ashes of one of the pets, Famara. “They have no value for him but for us it is important to be able to say goodbye to her and meet to give her a final farewell”, they explain.

For this reason, they ask that “if someone finds it lying around there”, notify the shelter or have it delivered.
