A Maritime Rescue plane landed this Tuesday afternoon at the Lanzarote airport after suffering an emergency when one of the two turbo-prop engines it has stopped. The crew, which was flying over the Atlantic between the Archipelago and the Sahara, managed to land without major problems.
The incident occurred around half past seven in the afternoon when the aircraft was east of the island of volcanoes. The plane continued north until it returned to Lanzarote, proceeding to land on the runway a few minutes after eight. The control tower gave priority to this operation, leaving at least three planes waiting - two inter-island flights and one international - which were soon able to reach the Island.
