The National Police arrested this past Sunday a man in the Arrecife neighborhood of San Francisco Javier, accused of assaulting his wife with a knife. According to confirmations to La Voz from this police force, the couple apparently had a "dispute" and in the course of it, the alleged aggressor made "several cuts with a knife" to his wife.
Agents of the National Police went to the scene, proceeding to arrest this man, who was brought to justice and, subsequently, was sent to the Tahíche prison.
For her part, the woman was transferred to a hospital center to assess the injuries, which turned out to be minor, so the doctor was able to discharge the affected woman.
This alleged case of gender violence adds to two others that also took place this weekend and in which the Local Police of Arrecife intervened. Thus, the first arrest occurred last Friday at noon in Altavista, when an allegedly assaulted woman reported the events to the agents who were carrying out security work in the area.
The second arrest took place on Saturday at noon in the Argana Baja neighborhood. In this case, a neighbor called the Local Police to report that "a woman was locked in a patio crying and a man was out of control carrying a knife in his hand." The man was arrested, accused of a crime of gender violence.
