A fire broke out at the Iberostar La Bocaina hotel in Playa Blanca, causing serious damage to the hotel's kitchen. The flames were extinguished, first by the hotel complex workers and, later, by the Yaiza Civil Protection teams. Fortunately, there were no injuries, according to a statement from the Yaiza Town Hall.
The fire broke out on Monday morning and, apparently, the fire started due to the overheating of the oil in a fryer. The flames spread through the rest of the kitchen until the hotel staff managed to put them out with the help of a fire extinguisher.
However, the workers requested help from Yaiza Civil Protection, so one of their teams went to the scene to definitively extinguish the fire. This body collaborated in the tasks of extinguishing and ventilating the area, since a dense cloud of black smoke had formed.
The speed in the action of the hotel employees has prevented personal injury from being regretted.
