In Tías you can already feel the Carnival atmosphere with the consultation of the festive program and the preparation of fabrics, threads and accessories to make the costumes. Carnival will start on Sunday thanks to the public presentation of the municipality's groups.
The Municipal Pavilion of Tías will host on February 23 at 7:00 p.m. the presentation of the Chimbay batucada and the Sur Caliente and Guaracheros troupes. The venue will vibrate with its boxes, drums, dances and choreographies that will bring rhythm and color to the beginning of the carnival.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Festivities, Miriam Hernández, wish to show their recognition to the members of these carnival groups "for the effort and work they develop for months to achieve a spectacular result".
From the consistory, the population is encouraged to go to the Municipal Pavilion on Sunday to support the Chimbay batucada and the Sur Caliente and Guaracheros troupes in their first performance this year. "We want to show our support to all those people who keep the Carnival alive, who live these parties for months and then show it in such important events as this," said Miriam Hernández.
Tías and Puerto del Carmen are preparing for their Carnival of dreams and colors inspired this year by the magical universe of Alice in Wonderland and the journey into the imagination of Lewis Carroll. The festivity in Puerto del Carmen will take place on March 6, 7 and 8.
