The Tías City Council has started this Monday the free computer course aimed at young people between 12 and 35 years old. "The demand for these basic and intermediate level classes of Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs has been so high that the number of groups has increased to three to serve as many young people as possible," they point out from the Consistory.

The course will run until August 31 in the morning for an hour and a half, and has a total of 60 students from the municipality of Tías.

The students are divided into three groups: the group on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, in the training room of the Tías Town Hall; the group on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, in the Senior Center, located on Bajamar Street, Puerto del Carmen; and the third group: Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, in the training room of the Town Hall.

The mayor, José Juan Cruz, the Councilor for Youth, Christopher Notario, and the Councilor for Education, Tomás Silvera, welcomed the students this morning, mostly young teenagers, and encouraged them to take advantage of the classes to master the basic programs and their tools, essential for any activity on computers or mobile devices.

The councilors also welcomed and congratulated the course monitor, Javier Sáenz, who briefly explained the roadmap for these training classes. Although the Tías City Council has responded to the great demand by creating a new group, the reserve list of interested students is still active through the Department of Youth.
