During the morning session, the Best Actress Award was presented to Carmen Valenciano, and the Best Actor Award to Antonio Hernández, in an act full of emotion and recognition of the effort, talent, and dedication of the seniors who have participated in this edition. A total of nine centers have been part of the exhibition, including the Lanzarote Alzheimer's Family Association, the AMAVIR Haría and Tías residences, the Annex to the Insular Hospital residence, the Flora Acoge, Maraua (Tiagua), Las Cabreras day centers, the GERON Tinajo Residence, and the La Graciosa Senior Center.
The Minister of Social Welfare, Marci Acuña, wanted to emphasize the human value of this initiative and pointed out that "this project demonstrates that our seniors have a lot to tell and offer. Thanks to 'No Holds Barred Seniors', we not only celebrate their creativity but also the fundamental work of those who care for them every day with professionalism and affection."
Acuña also thanked all the technical and artistic staff for their involvement and pointed out that this project once again demonstrates that art and creativity know no age, turning cinema into a tool for inclusion, expression, and collective memory.
This event takes place within the framework of the 25th Lanzarote International Film Festival, which is held between May 12 and 24; together with the Animation Service of the Insular Hospital, the sponsorship of the Department of Social Welfare and Inclusion of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, and the collaboration of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism, the City Council of Arrecife, the Government of the Canary Islands, Canary Island Films, the Canarian Institute of Cultural Development and the Society for the External Promotion of Lanzarote, through its product brand Lanzarote Film Commission.
