The residents of Mácher attended the celebration of the Eucharist on Christmas Day, as tradition dictates. The mass was presided over by the parish priest of Tías, Adrián Sosa Núez.
The Rancho de Pascuas de Mácher, musically directed by the young professor Juanma Morales, enlivened the celebration with their carols, extending them even further during the kissing of the Child Jesus. In addition, this special celebration also included the participation of a group of children dressed in peasant clothes representing the shepherds, who recited verses to the Child Jesus with the help of the catechist Toña.
The parish priest, who has recently arrived at the parish of Tías, congratulated the residents for their involvement in maintaining the spirit of Christmas with the elaboration of the Nativity Scene. A group of residents, led by Jenaro Bonilla, gets to work every year and selflessly so that the tradition continues in a chain from parents to children.
After the Eucharist, the residents went to the hall of the Socio-Cultural Center to share the sweetest and most delicious homemade pastries, very famous in the town of Mácher, washed down with traditional grandmother's liqueurs such as mistela, mora, banana, and the tasty Malvasia from the area.
