The Ranchos de Pascua, also called Ranchos de Navidad, have been present on all the islands, but on the island of Lanzarote it is more rooted, and around these dates different meetings are organized in the municipalities.
On Saturday night, organized by the Department of Festivities of the Arrecife City Council, supervised by Encarna Páez, the traditional "Encuentro de Ranchos de Pascua" took place in the church of San Ginés. Once the celebration of the Eucharist was over, which was presided over by the parish priest Juan Carlos Medina, the parishioners remained inside the temple to enjoy the performance of the ranches.
The event began with the performance of "Los Auroros de Lorca, Región de Murcia", called Las Cuadrillas de Auroros historically formed by men and currently also formed by women. The representation that moved to Lanzarote conquered the public with their very lively and cheerful songs typical of these dates to which they also added a jota with dance included, malagueña and the improvised song with some lyrics dedicated to Juan Carlos, the parish priest of San Ginés and Encarna Páez, Councilor for Festivities both present at the event.
Once the performance was over, the Rancho de Pascua Archinet de Tinajo entered with the lights of the temple turned off, singing El Corrido. Once located next to the Main Altar, they continued with their performance interpreting Lo Divino, El niño que está en la Cuna, Las Pascuas and ended with the Contradanza. The Rancho carried out the exit also singing accompanied by the public to the Plaza de Las Palmas where he was dismissed with applause.
Traditions that are maintained in Lanzarote and when these dates arrive they leave their rehearsal places to participate in the so-called Misa del Gallo also encouraging with their songs during the Besapiés to the Child Jesus and taking the spirit of Christmas to some residences for the elderly.
