The annual meeting Teaching Art returns to the Lanzarote cultural calendar and will celebrate its XXVII edition this May, with its usual program of talks, exhibitions, monologues and concerts by the island's teachers and for the general public.

After last year's break, the Lanzarote Teachers' Center has resumed the organization of an activity that brings the island's population into contact with its teachers, while making visible the capacities and skills of teaching professionals in the creative field.

The inaugural talk on Tuesday, May 4, will be given by professor and graphic humorist Jesús Verdú Medina “Morgan”, a popular cartoonist for the Canarias 7 newspaper from 1983 to the present. The event, which will be attended by the General Director of Educational Planning, Innovation and Quality, Gregorio Cabrera, will be held in person and broadcast on YouTube, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the headquarters of Arte Docente 2021, the Pancho Lasso Art School.

Afterwards, the exhibition “Arrecife de Mar” by the teacher of the CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés, David García, and the 1st Digital Photography Exhibition, composed of 27 snapshots of hidden places in Lanzarote, some of which have been included in the new edition of the magazine Jameos, will be opened to the public in the halls of the educational center.

The cultural week will be closed by the teacher of the CEIP San Juan María del Carmen Barreto Pacheco, with the monologue “De Porcia ax Miquiño”, about the relationship between Emilia Pardo Bazán and Benito Pérez Galdós, and the musical show "Conciencia 2.0” by Estefanía Curbelo Rodríguez, from the Costa Teguise school. It will be on Friday, May 7, starting at 7:00 p.m., again at the Pancho Lasso Art School in person and with online broadcasting.
