The neighbors of the town of Tahíche are enjoying the extensive program of festivities in honor of Santiago Apóstol and Santa Ana. On the afternoon of last Sunday they were able to enjoy the magnificent concert by the Acatife Popular Music Group from La Villa de Teguise and, in advance, the neighbors gathered in the marquee installed on the sports court of the Santiago El Mayor Neighbors' Association.

The Acatife team, made up of 30 members, gave their all, directed musically by Alejandro Machín and Juan Ramón González and vocally by José Antonio Elías. The group gave a broad overview of some of the compositions already recorded in their seven record albums such as El Diablo de Timanfaya, Cruz del Mar, Las Bogotanas, Identidad, Seguidillas, Soy Canario, Malagueñas a la Vida or Por Bandera, among others,

The audience, which filled the permitted capacity, shared their applause at all times, also interspersing the odd chorus. Since its creation in 1983, Acatife has continued on the same line in each of its concerts in Lanzarote and the other islands of the Canary archipelago, making known new compositions of its own creation to later include them in a new record work.

At the concert last Sunday in Tahíche, within the framework of the patron saint festivities, the audience was able to enjoy 80 minutes of the best of Acatife who, standing, were applauded. As a token of gratitude they were given a new composition, ending the concert. The Lanzarote Cabildo councilor Domingo Cejas, Councilor for Water, welcomed them and enjoyed the concert.
