The Haría City Council will celebrate the Festivities of Our Lady of Candelaria de Tabayesco, in honor of the Virgin. The festivities will take place from this Friday, January 17, to Sunday the 26th, and will be accompanied by an extensive cultural program, marked by musical performances and sports tests.
The mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, encourages citizens to participate in these celebrations, "which value the passion and union of the residents of the town." He also appreciates the collaboration and effort of the Tabayesco Festival Commission for organizing activities for all ages, ensuring the enjoyment of the population.
For his part, the Councilor for Festivities, Alberto de León, explains that they have designed a fun and entertaining program, "full of recreational and cultural activities, which promote interpersonal relationships and sports among residents and visitors."
The Festivities of Our Lady of Candelaria de Tabayesco offer a varied program for all ages. Among the activities, musical shows, card game championships, plays, craft workshops and sporting events stand out, such as the XIV Popular Race.
Programming
The festivities begin this Friday, January 17, at 10:00 a.m., with the decoration of the town, and at 7:30 p.m. there will be a draw for the Truco and Envite Championship.
On Saturday the 18th, the XIV Tabayesco Popular Race will be held at 5:00 p.m. The benefits collected during this sports day will be destined to the La Casa de La Estrella protectora. Those interested in participating can register that same day from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. There will be two modalities: the children's, for children under 14 years, at 5:00 p.m., and the adults, at 5:30 p.m.
Following the program, on Sunday the 19th there will be a craft workshop for children and adults, taught by the artisan Antonio Emilio Betancort, at 4:00 p.m. Later, at 4:30 p.m., there will be a draw to form the teams for the men's and women's Bola Championship. Finally, there will be a snack with chocolate and churros, at 6:00 p.m.
On Friday the 24th, a new draw will be organized at 5:30 p.m. for the mixed Cinquillo and Chinchón championships. Then, at 7:30 p.m., you can see the play Caleidoscopio, by the La Tegala company. On Saturday the 25th, at 7:30 p.m., there will be musical performances and a karaoke, and at 9:30 p.m., the Son del Norte and Pa ́l Porrón parrandas will take the stage.
On the last day, Sunday the 26th, the Holy Mass and the procession of the Virgin will take place at 12:15 p.m., followed by the Fiesta Canaria, at 1:45 p.m., enlivened by the Son del Norte and Pa ́l Porrón parrandas. At 4:45 p.m., the Magic and Fantasy performance of the magician José Ángel will be offered, and a surprise bingo will be organized, accompanied by chocolate and churros.
