The 14th Theater Cultural Week of San Bartolomé has ended with the last two plays that were performed on stage, "The Bald Soprano" and "The Legend and the Storm", which put the final touch to this event.
Last Saturday the theater of San Bartolomé featured the performance of the play “The Bald Soprano”, by the Chespir Theater Company, with a full house for the occasion.
Chespir staged a satire on Greek tragedy, in which the destiny of all monotonies will always be "the collapse" and will be repeated infinitely.
The marriage of the Smiths and their hosts, in their endless conversations in their home, demonstrate how much of nothing can be said when there is nothing left to say.
"The Legend and the Storm", final touch to the Theater Week
The play for the family audience “The Legend and the Storm”, by the company 2RC Teatro, closed on April 9 the fourteenth edition of the Theater Cultural Week of San Bartolomé.
The show, directed by Rafael Rodríguez, served as the culmination of this year's edition, and was based on myths and legends of our island.
The Council points out that the play is based on "Legend", who is in charge of watching over the lighthouse of the island of San Borondón every night. And in order not to fall asleep or get bored on the long nights, she carries books with great adventures in her suitcases. Suddenly, on a stormy night, while she is sleeping, the lighthouse on the island of San Borondón, which Legend must watch over, goes out. Something mysterious has happened!
Councilor Alma María González, celebrated the success of this play, applauding 2RC Teatro for "their participation and interpretation."
