The First Section of the Provincial Court maintains for next Monday, January 22 in Arrecife, the first session of the oral trial within the framework of the Montecarlo case.
The Court maintains the appointment despite the request of the lawyer Francisco Javier Gordo, defender of Lorenzo Lemaur in the Montecarlo case, who requested on January 9 the suspension of the trial and the request that a new lawyer be assigned to the accused since he could not assume his defense for health reasons. This is stated in the document presented to the First Section of the Provincial Court.
According to a second document presented to the Lanzarote Bar Association, the defense of Lorenzo Lemaur was assigned to Francisco Javier Gordo on December 11 and that same day the lawyer resigned from it for health reasons. In addition, he alleged that since 2021 he cannot perform face-to-face duties due to a health problem.
However, this situation will be resolved during the first session of the oral trial.
