The Sixth Section of the Provincial Court will judge next Wednesday in Gran Canaria two men and a woman accused of introducing and distributing large quantities of cocaine in Lanzarote between 2016 and 2021.

The investigation that gave rise to this case was carried out between 2019 and 2021 by the Organized Crime Team of the Civil Guard in the Canary Islands, in coordination with the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Teams of the Civil Guard Commands of Huelva and Madrid.

According to the Prosecutor's Office's indictment, the defendants J.M.T.F. and F.F.J. would have agreed to introduce "large shipments of cocaine" into Lanzarote and then distribute them throughout the island. Thus, the drug was introduced in the vehicles that were transported by ferries from other Canary Islands or from the towns of Huelva and Cádiz.

For this, they allegedly had the help of I.K.V.B. who acted as a "final seller to the consumer." As part of the investigation, the Civil Guard surprised the defendant when she was allegedly leaving her home, on Triana Street in Arrecife, with a backpack containing more than a dozen packages of cocaine, a hydraulic press, 7,000 euros in cash and three mobile phones. The seized drug amounted to 25,111.64 euros.

In addition, according to the fiscal document, a 380 automatic caliber semi-automatic pistol was found, 17 millimeters and number of the Air Force, as well as a magazine with 17 unfired cartridges. Despite this, the Public Ministry emphasizes that "it is not recorded" that the accused had a weapons license.

The Public Ministry states that the three defendants are co-authors of a crime against public health, while I.K.V.B. is added to that of illegal possession of weapons. For this reason, he asks for six years in prison for each one, with accessory special disqualification of passive suffrage during the term of the sentence and a fine of 75,334.92 euros.

While I.K.V.B. adds a year and nine months of prison, with the accessory special disqualification for the right of passive suffrage during the term of the sentence. In addition to the confiscation of the drug and the payment of costs.

To conclude, the Prosecutor's Office requests the provisional dismissal of the proceedings against another six investigated, understanding that there are no "sufficient reasons" to support the accusation against them.
