The Lanzarote Bar Association, the Official Association of Social Graduates of Lanzarote, the Official Association of Economists of Lanzarote and the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa have received the support of the San Bartolomé City Council for the initiative to demand that Contentious-Administrative Courts be established on the island of Lanzarote.
The deputy mayor of the municipality, Antonio Rocío, was in charge of conveying the certificate of the plenary agreement, unanimously approved on July 28, thus responding to a historical demand, which these professional associations have recently taken up again.
From the Lanzarote Bar Association, they point out that the lack of these Courts on the island forces the residents and local administrations to travel to Gran Canaria, which means time and, above all, costs. For this reason, they consider the achievement of the objective urgent, which dates back more than ten years.
In addition, they hope to continue holding meetings with the rest of the island's town councils in order to gather the support of all institutions.
