The Prosecutor's Office is asking for nine years in prison for attempted murder for a man who stabbed his partner in Arrecife. The trial will be held next week before Section II of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas.
The alleged aggression occurred in the early hours of June 19, 2020 in the family home. After a heated argument with his partner, the defendant, wielding the knife, "and moved by the deliberate intention to end the life" of the victim, stabbed her several times, while her daughter was in front. "He slammed her against the wall, grabbing her tightly by the neck trying to suffocate her, breaking both her glasses and her cell phone in the course of events," the Public Prosecutor's Office says in its provisional conclusions.
This attack caused several injuries to the woman, consisting of a sutured incisive wound in the central region of the forehead, in the shape of a crescent moon of about four centimeters, as well as another of similar characteristics in the left thigh, five centimeters in diameter and linear.
