Lanzarote has positioned itself as one of the preferred destinations among many international tourists, but also national ones for summer vacations in August. This has been confirmed by an analysis by Jetcost.es, which shows that the island is in 8th place in terms of British preferences, 12th for Italians, 13th for Portuguese and French, 14th for Germans and 15th for Dutch.
The data analyzing the results of flight searches during the month of August 2022 indicate that a large majority has opted for the Canary Islands, especially for Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Gran Canaria. In general, Canary Islands is the most sought-after Autonomous Community by Europeans to spend the month of August 2022.
From the flight and hotel search engine, they point out that flight searches have increased by 250%, while hotel searches have increased by 330% in the first seven months of this year 2022. In fact, searches for August 2022 vacations are already 30% above those of the same month in 2019.
In addition, users spend 50% more time searching for different solutions, budgets and alternative dates, to find the offer that best suits their pockets, but also in search of sun and beach destinations.
A good part of the Europeans who have decided to travel during the August 2022 vacations are going to do so to Spain, becoming the most searched country in Jetcost to spend the August vacations ahead of Italy and Portugal.
Also among the favorites at the national level
As far as national tourists are concerned, Lanzarote is in ninth place among the most searched destinations in the world, being the third most searched Canary Island, behind Tenerife and Gran Canaria, in fourth and sixth position.
In addition, the capitals of the main European countries are, together with other Spanish cities, the destinations that occupy the best positions in the list, with Paris in eighth place, Rome in tenth and London in twelfth. Those who have chosen long-distance destinations have opted for Lima (16), Havana (20), New York (21), Bangkok (24) and Bogota (25).
