Although the numbers do not decrease (Lanzarote Airport recorded 705,000 passengers in February), there is at least a slowdown in quantitative tourism growth, with a passenger increase of 0.8% compared to the same month last year.

After huge growth in 2023, when passengers increased in February by 25.9% to 622,198, and in the same month of 2024, another 12.5% to 700,157, the number of passengers at Lanzarote airport grew last month by only 4,673 people.

There are also signs of stabilization in the rest of the Canary Islands. The group of airports in the archipelago registered a growth of 2%.

Gran Canaria Airport registered even lower growth than Lanzarote, as it was 0.7% compared to last year. Meanwhile, Tenerife South Airport grew by 2.2% and Tenerife North by 2.5%.

In the rest of the western islands it even decreased. La Palma, (-0.2%); El Hierro (-2.8%); and, La Gomera, (-1.2%).

Only Fuerteventura continues with high figures of quantitative growth. Its airport registered an increase of 6.5% in passengers in February compared to the previous year.
